Rural Planning Reflections With john fittzgibbon
It is with deep respect and gratitude that we remember Prof. (Emeritus). John FittzGibbon, a devoted scholar, mentor, and colleague whose contributions shaped the Rural Planning and Development field for many years.
We honour his memory in the School of Environmental Design and Rural Development.
Sadly, John FitzGibbon passed away on April 12, 2026. John was a wonderful mentor, colleague and leader within the Rural Planning and Development program at the University of Guelph, and in the broader rural planning community. This video provides some insight into John’s career and the important contributions he made to Rural Planning and Development at Guelph and beyond.
